DETROIT (AP) — Former Miss USA Rima Fakih was speeding and weaving through traffic with an uncorked, half-empty bottle of champagne and a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when she was arrested in the Detroit enclave of Highland Park, according to a police report released Tuesday.

The report on her drunken-driving arrest obtained by The Associated Press through a Freedom of Information Act request says the 26-year-old from Dearborn was pulled over early Saturday going 60 mph, weaving in heavy traffic and changing lanes without using a turn signal.

A police officer whose name was given only as R. Kalis said the traffic stop happened about 2:15 a.m.

The report says she was driving a black 2011 Jaguar.

Kalis reported asking for the driver's license said the "driver immediately identified herself as Miss USA and stated that she was driving a friend's car."

Kalis said Fakih "appeared disoriented and had very slurred speech while fumbling for her purse." Kalis asked Fakih if she had been drinking, and she said, "No, not at all."

In the report, officers said they found an open and half-empty bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne on the floorboard behind the driver's seat.

"I swear, I didn't know it was open," Fakih told Kalis, according to the report.

Two breath tests showed a 0.19 percent and a 0.20 percent blood-alcohol level. Michigan law defines drunkenness at a level of 0.08 percent.

The report said Fakih was handcuffed and taken to a police station. It said she was placed in a cell "until she was sober for her safety and the safety of others."

Police said they seized Fakih's driver's license and issued her a temporary license. She was ordered to report to court within 10 days. Besides drunken driving, Fakih also faces charges of possessing an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle and careless driving.

Phone and email messages seeking comment were left Tuesday for Fakih's lawyer, Doraid Elder. Email messages also were left for Fakih on Monday and Tuesday.

The former Miss Michigan born in Lebanon won the Miss USA Pageant in 2010 and her reign ended earlier this year.

She won the Miss USA Pageant in May 2010. Her reign ended June 19, 2011. She was the first Miss Michigan to win the title since 1993 and the first Arab American winner ever.

While still holding the Miss USA title, Fakih became a contestant on the USA Network's "WWE Tough Enough" show. The show started with 12 men and women competing to be professional wrestlers.

Fakih was voted off the show in the episode broadcast April 25.

Reigning Miss Caliornia Carrie Prejean claims that she did not willingly pose for the topless photos just released by TMZ.com this morning. LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A former beauty queen who was stripped of her tiara after racy photos of her appeared on the Internet has been freed from jail following her arrest on traffic offenses.

Katherine N. "Katie" Rees, 23, a former Miss Nevada USA, was held for about 12 hours at the Clark County jail after police said she was stopped while driving about 3 a.m. Wednesday and became physically aggressive toward a Las Vegas police officer.

Mario Torres, Rees' lawyer in Tampa, Fla., denied Rees was aggressive, and said she chipped or lost a tooth when she was forcefully pushed against her vehicle.

"Based on the information I've received, the officer was very aggressive with her," Torres said. "They used aggression against her."

Rees was charged with speeding, driving with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with suspended license plates, failure to produce proof of insurance and resisting a police officer, police said.

She was released without bail and is due to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court on March 8.

Torres said Rees was alone when she was stopped while driving her car. He and police said there was no indication she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Las Vegas police Officer Bill Cassell said no injuries were reported.
The Miss Universe Organization and co-owner Donald Trump dethroned Rees in December 2006 after photos appeared showing her kissing other young women, exposing one of her breasts and pulling down her pants to show her thong underwear at a party in Tampa, Fla.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A beauty pageant winner and law school student clerking for a federal judge faces charges that she kidnapped and tortured an ex-boyfriend.

Kumari Fulbright, 25, was indicted with three men Dec. 18 by a Pima County Superior Court grand jury on charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated robbery and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, the Arizona Daily Star reported.

Fulbright, was Miss Pima County in 2005 and Miss Desert Sun in 2006, and sought the title of Miss Arizona during those years.

She also clerked for U.S. District Judge Raner Collins as a University of Arizona law school student, the newspaper said.

It said the alleged assailants held a 24-year-old man captive for 10 hours on Dec. 8 while robbing and torturing him.

Court documents said the foursome tied the man up with plastic cable ties and duct tape, holding him at two Tucson homes, during which time they pointed handguns at him, threatened his life, stole his cell phone, briefcase and wallet, taking between $500 and $600.

The newspaper also said the documents accused Fulbright of biting him several times, sticking a butcher knife in his ear, saying she was going to kill him and pointing a pistol at him.

The Star said after eight to 10 hours, the victim grabbed Fulbright's gun, which went off, and he fled the house screaming for help.
